coach matt pahnke
triharder multisports llc is owned and operated by matt pahnke. coach matt completed his usat level ii expert certification in june of 2003 at the us olympic training center in colorado springs. he is also a uscf certified club coach and a certified personal trainer. matt has been competing in triathlons from sprint to ironman distance since 1997. matt became a member of team usa in 2007 and competed at the 2007 itu duathlon long courseworld championship. he was a member of the team that was instrumental in the re-organization of the chicago tri club and he served as club president in 2001 and 2002. he has also served as the usat national club committee chair.
matt completed his master�s degree in exercise physiology in may of 2004 at the university of texas at austin, where he specialized in sports science and nutrition. he is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at ut, where he works in the human performance lab. in 2003 he led a research project at the ironman world championship in kona, hawaii which focused on sodium and fluid balance during exercise, his area of specialization. matt has given local and national presentations on sports nutrition, fluid and sodium balance, and other triathlon related topics. a few of the presentation venues include the usat race director's conference, the american college of sports medicine annual meeting, texas acsm, the leukemia and lymphoma society, and several sports clubs. contact matt at matt@triharder.com.
